Auditions: August 14, 2010 at 2:00pm

Please have a 1 minute monologue prepared as well as 16 bars of a ballad and an upbeat song.

The audition will include dance, please dress accordingly.

Academy Children’s Theatre Company Requirements

Voice, Acting, and Musical Theatre Dance Technique Class (ages 8 – 18)

This combined class is specifically designed to help the students progress. The voice segment of the class is to enrich the sound and technique of the Musical Theatre singer. The Acting segment of the class will help develop the student’s stage presence, while the dance training gives each student an opportunity to learn the various styles of dance required for productions. This class is offered at BAT in beginning and intermediate levels.

The Academy member must attend weekly scheduled rehearsals.

Rehearsals are on Monday evenings. The week prior to a performance there will be other mandatory dress and tech rehearsals times and dates TBA.

Ballet or Jazz

Ballet and Jazz both offer classical training for dance. Many times an actor or singer may be called upon to dance. These fundamental classes will help to prepare students for all roles in any given show.

Commitment

Two unexcused rehearsals will forfeit membership in the company. Excessive excused absences may result in loss of role or dismissal from the company.

Tuition

Monthly tuition for ACT is $100 plus the cost of the Technique class.

Your Company Tuition covers production expenses such as costumes, props, sets, royalties, rentals, rehearsal time, and more.

There is a $40 enrollment fee with Ballet Academy of Texas.
